SIMPLE BONE CYST OF PROXIMAL HUMERUS WITH PATHOLOGICAL FRACTURE

A well defined, ovoid 2.8 x 1.8 x 1.7 cm intraosseous altered signal intensity, expansile, cystic mass lesion is noted involving the proximal humeral diaphysis – consistent with a simple bone cyst.

A linear transverse STIR/T2 hypointensity is noted traversing through the mass lesion traversing through medial as well as lateral cortex suggesting a ‘pathological fracture’.

Thin periosteal collection in the proximal arm associated with marked surrounding muscle edema.
