CAROTID BODY TUMOUR , Shamblin group 1

An intensely enhancing lobulated mass lesion measuring 3.6 x 2.8 x 2.9 cm epicentered at the right carotid artery bifurcation causing marked splaying of external and internal carotid arteries (with posterior displacement of ICA ) – consistent with ‘Carotid body Tumor’ (carotid body paraganglioma)

Posterior displacement of the ICA by the mass lesion with 180° encasement of the anterior wall of ICA -Shamblin Group 1.

The contralateral common carotid artery, bifurcation appears grossly unremarkable. No evidence of 1 synchronous lesion on the left.
