Acute superior mesenteric vein thrombosis

Findings suggestive of acute superior mesenteric vein thrombosis*.

An approximately 5.0 x 3.2 necrotic rim enhancing collection in the right lower quadrant mesentery with surrounding mesenteric fat stranding demonstrating tiny air fluid levels which is apparently communicating with thickened appendix – *suggestive of acute appendicitis with abscesses*

No evidence of bowel wall necrosis in this study.

Recommend further evaluation in view of prothrombotic state , venography , immune status evaluation, follow up
